Sustainable Sculpture

Join Lauren Hom and Rachael Renae, hosts of the Chaotic Creatives podcast, for a day of sustainable sculpture and creative connection in Brooklyn, NY!

In this six-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to create whimsical, upcycled sculptures while gaining clarity on your creative values and confidence in the work you want to put out into the world. This workshop is focused on sustainability, both with regards to the materials we’ll be using to create our sculptures and the guided discussions we’ll be having around adapting and evolving over the course of your creative career.

Here’s our agenda for the day:

  • Building armatures out of found objects

  • Applying sculpting mediums + different techniques

  • Lunch + Creative Clarity Chats (group discussions while sculptures dry)

  • Painting and sealing

You’ll leave this workshop with at least one medium-sized sculpture, a renewed sense of creative direction, a few new pals, plus the knowledge and skills to create many more sculptures as art, decor, props, and gifts!

Date: Thursday, November 13th

Time: 10 AM to 4 PM

Cost: $300

Location: 213 Troutman St, Brooklyn, NY 11237

All materials + lunch included (dietary restrictions welcome!)

Who is this workshop for?

IF YOU…

  • have been waffling on a creative decision or idea for wayyy too long

  • feel like you’ve been playing it safe with your work

  • are struggling to hear your creative voice with all the noise of the internet, your audience, “the market”, your mom, etc

  • want to try something new in your work (and intellectually, you know nothing is stopping you) but it feels scary

AND YOU WANT TO…

  • to allow yourself to have fun with your work again

  • a supportive, creative environment to bounce ideas around and verbally process your thoughts

  • permission (encouragement, even) to make something useless and silly

  • to gain clarity on your creative values and feel confident in the work you want to put out in the world

…then this workshop is for you!

Cool ways to use this workshop…

Break out of a creative rut: mix up your routine, immerse yourself in an exciting yet unfamiliar environment, and shake off those creative cobwebs

Go on creative “do not disturb” mode: go inward and explore what you ~actually~ want to make without the noise of what other people think you should make

Gift yourself a day of play: spend some much-needed time away from your desk and reconnect with the spark that comes from having fun with your work

Meet your teachers!
