Hello and welcome to Week 45 of #HOMwork!
This week we have a fabulous guest teacher Sarah Pearson, a lefty calligrapher and lettering artist based on the Gulf Coast of Alabama. She uses her platform to educate aspiring letterers and to force other people to listen to all of her (sometimes unpopular) opinions. She is also the creator of The Inky Box, a monthly subscription box just for letterers and calligraphers.
Let’s be honest, we all Google some really weird shit. Recently, when one of my boy cats went through a phase of constantly humping another of our boy cats, I found myself Googling the phrase “can cats be gay?” (the answer is no, it’s just a dominance thing, in case you’re interested). A few of my other greatest hits include “menstrual cup leakage” (TMI?), “Riverdale theories” (shut up, that show is really good), and “fun things to do with your orts” (it’s the name for embroidery thread scraps)!
All this googling got me wondering, do other people do this too? And since I might just be the nosiest person in the world I'm using this week's #HOMwork assignment to find out!
Don’t worry, if you’re a boring Googler (did I just make up a word?), this list has plenty to borrow from!
As always, post your work using the hashtag #HOMwork. In the caption tell us the best answer Google had to offer!
P.S. Sarah's project The Inky Box is a monthly subscription box exclusively for letterers and calligraphers! Each month, subscribers receive an assortment of lettering supplies, practice sheets, and greeting cards designed by talented lettering artists! Subscriptions start at just $14.99/month!
