Hey HOMwork friends, happy Friday!
(If this is your first time joining us, take a peek at our Challenge Archive for all previous assignments.)
So...we’re halfway through 2019, crazy right?!
How’s it going? Do you feel good about where you’re at? Is there something new you want to try? Is it time for a complete 180 in your career or lifestyle?
This week’s assignment is all about figuring out what direction you want to go in for the rest of the year. Whether it’s staying on the same path if that feels right for you, making a big change if you’re unhappy, or a few small tweaks to recenter yourself and your creative priorities. Remember: you’re in the driver’s seat, and you can always hit reset on your intentions.
Typically we reserve January for reflection and goal setting, but I have found it immensely valuable to check in on myself and my creative priorities more frequently. I like to think of my life + business as having different seasons so my creative energy can fluctuate. There are some seasons where my focus has been growing my business, others where I’ve let having fun and experimenting with passion projects be my focus. Whichever I chose always ended up being the right thing for that particular “season” of my life (and if it wasn’t, I changed it as soon as I felt that way!).
That's the beauty about thinking in seasons: they always change, and that’s okay.
Take some time this week to reflect on what direction you want to go in this season and lean into it. Don’t worry about what you might be missing out on in the meantime because the season for that might not be here yet. Figuring out what’s right for right now is a great way to ground yourself and be present in the work that you’re doing.
